ADNUAA – HUAA Increasing discoverability and curation processes of genetic samples of the ADNUAA collection (central Mexico) – Part1 / 2

DescriptionThis project is part of the Global Genome Biodiversity Network-Global Genome Initiative Awards program 2021. We are documenting angiosperms (approximately 12 families) and lichens (also about 12 families) from central Mexico, considering the states of Aguascalientes, Jalisco, and Zacatecas. Those states have diverse habitats, such as arid areas, subtropical shrublands, and temperate forests. The stored material includes both dry tissue and extracted DNA, deposited at the DNA Bank of the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes. Each sample is linked to a herbarium specimen held at the Herbarium of the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (HUAA), ensuring its integrity and accessibility for future research. This effort not only enhances our understanding of the biodiversity at a regional level, but strengthens ADNUAA's capacity to contribute to the goals of the GGBN, promoting global scientific collaboration and the preservation of Mexico's genomic diversity
