Dataset Description

Royal Botanic Gardens Kew DNA Bank

DescriptionThe DNA and Tissue Collection at Kew was started in 1992 and contains approximately 50,000 samples of plant genomic DNA (as at the beginning of 2016), all stored at -80°C or room temperature for silica dried tissue samples. DNA samples can be ordered using the search form. Fees are there to offset the cost of production, maintenance and shipment and do not imply that DNA samples are being purchased. Kew's standard terms of supply (see MTA form) restrict commercial use of the DNA supplied. Unfortunately, for species listed by CITES, we are unable to accept orders from countries without a CITES authority.
